NORA, the National Oilheat Research Alliance issued a Field Study demonstrating the efficacy, stability, and economic viability of 100% renewable liquid heating fuels. Despite, misconceptions of the heating oil industry, this sector of energy has actually made significant strides in reducing reliance on fossil fuels. The NORA study bears this out. After decades of blending biodiesel made from various renewable sources, this study went even further testing 100% renewable liquid fuels in heating oil settings. The study found that these 100% renewable heating oil sources performed at the same levels as traditional heating oil but reduced sulfur output. This study paves the way for heating oil providers to compete in the green space.
