Pennsylvania Utility Commission Taps Judith Cassel for Regenerative Energy Initiative Board

On August 6, 2026, the Pennsylvania Utility Commission approves HMS Legal’s Judith Cassel to be one of two new board member for Regenerative Energy Initiative f/k/a Sustainable Energy Fund of Pennsylvania.

The other board member approved today by the PUC to sit on Regenerative Energy Initiative’s (REI) board is Garrett Powell. The Board exists to assist REI with its mission to advance a regenerative energy future – where energy systems actively renew, revitalize, and regenerate environmental, economic, and social systems. REI is a non-profit that finances a range of sustainable and regenerative energy projects including solar, biomass, building envelope improvements, HVAC upgrades, and lighting systems. Its goal it to provide funding for these systems in a low-cost sustainable manner. Core to REI’s mission is education and they host several energy “camps” to enlighten and encourage young sustainable energy enthusiasts.
